Amazing not-AI under-800 characters game reviews

2025/11/13 > Battlefield 6 (2025, Xbox Series X)

I'm a BF6 hype victim, that is my confession. BF6 is technically outstanding, funny, and the sound work is simply amazing. The problem with this game is Broken Arrow (check the review below). BF6 isn't too addictive and is not as intense as Broken Arrow is (when the 5v5 matches, little strategies can make a difference in the entire match). Yes are totally different genres, and it isn't fair to compare BA with BF6, but BF6 is an FPS focused only on unlocking new thing. If you lose a match, "that's ok" because a single soldier in an army isn't a game-changer usually. Anyway, I found a good way to enjoy it: find a couple of friends and play tactically, holding positions, covering, and coordinating every single assault. Playing BF6 alone in "COD mode" is "meh" TBH. Also, avoid the campaign.

2025/08/20 > Broken Arrow (2025, PC)

I discovered this gem recently. Broken Arrow is a "realistic" RTS that looks awesome, sounds stunning, the multiplayer is addictive but it needs a lot of work because it still feeling like a beta version game: The game uses a lot of GPU resources even if you have a powerful hardware, the UI looks like a worrd document, it has a lot of bugs and the worst part is the presence of cheaters on the multiplayer matches. It seems that the developers are working to fix this. Another problem is the "leavers" you're playing with 4 random teammates, and then 2 left the game. The worst part is the community; everyone is asking for everything everywhere. Guys, this game was made by an Indie Studio, not Activision-Blizzard. So, amazing potential, looking forward to the further patches/expansions.

2025/06/11 > Doom Eternal (2020, PC)

After some years of "gaming depression", I decided to beat my Steam/Consoles backlog. Doom Eternal was a part of this pile of unfinished games. Eternal is funny and technically brilliant, but honestly, I prefer the exploration style of classic Doom games. The problem with this game is the "parkour" oriented gameplay: annoying, frustrating, and nonsensical in the Doom Context. How can a futuristic and advanced semi-god race like the Mayks not design ladders and elevators in their civilization? This is exponentially increased on the Expansions (Ancient Gods 1 and 2). If you ask me about my favorite modern Doom Game, definitely Doom 2016 is better, and of course, I'm looking forward to Doom Dark Ages. Meanwhile, I'm playing Starcraft II campaign, so no Doom games update for a while.

2024/10/31 > Thunderforce III (1990, SEGA Genesis)

This isn't my favorite Thunderforce game, but it has fantastic colorful graphics, effects, music, and difficulty balance (also... What a box art!). This game is a major improvement over Thunderforce II offering the first 100% side-scrolling shooter in the saga, and compared to Lightning Force (Thunderforce IV in Europe and Japan), it is an excellent argument introduction. The main ship is the "FIRE LEO-03 Styx", and our goal is to defeat the Orn Empire across eight levels. Maybe the only bad thing is the old-fashioned design, remember, we are talking about a 1990 game, so, you're forgiven, Technosoft. Thunderforce III is a SEGA Genesis must-have; it's undoubtedly one of the top 10 games on the system. If you love the shoot'em ups, this is your game.

2023/11/14 > Dune: Spice Wars (2023, PC)

Right now I have a few hours per week to play video games, yes, adult life sucks. But Dune: Spice Wars (available on Steam) is a great program to spend time on. If you have played the 90's Dune games this is different, is closer to Civilization style but adds some real-time strategy elements. I love it, the best part is that the developers respect the Dune novel's houses' colors and characters' names, probably the best part is the economics management, trust me. The graphics are okay, you don't need an RTX 4090 GPU to enjoy it and the music is outstanding. The only bad thing here is the absence of a real campaign, but well if you came from the Civ world, this is not a real problem. Give it a chance.
